America Is Not Just a Fast Food Nation

When my grandparents started cooking 40 years ago, there were great restaurants in New York or even San Francisco, but there was no recognition in the world. America used to be known only as a fast-food nation.
The most serious decision my grandparents made in their careers was to change the restaurant menu every day. Every day we are offered an incredible number of opportunities that were unthinkable before our generation. We can open more restaurants, we can write more books, can design things, my grandparents even worked on two Hollywood movies.
When you think of food and America, the first things that come to mind are fast food and McDonald’s. However, America is not only a country of contrasts in terms of landscape, but also in terms of food culture.
However, if you stay here for a long time, you should make an effort to find out what typical American families like to eat.
We Americans like our breakfasts salty and sweet
Breakfast in the USA is more luxurious than in Portugal (where I’m currently staying). On the other hand, Americans are more reserved at lunchtime.
